Dragflow DRF Mini Dredgers are an essential tool in water treatment and sewage plants
Mini dredgers are essential tools across a variety of applications, in particular in Australian water treatment and sewage plants.
Sewage treatment works produce significant quantities of activated sludge every day, and this can be disposed of in a variety of ways, including being used as fertiliser. as landfill, or being incinerated.
However the sludge is used, it will usually first be pumped into a pond or similar, before being sent to an evaporation basin, from where it will then be transported to its final destination. The process of moving sludge form one form of storage facility to another can be a delicate operation, given the nature of the material.
This is where the Dragflow DRF mini dredger comes into its own.
When equipped with a submersible dredge pump, a mini dredger enables sludge to be safely pumped from a storage pond to another location; a process made safer and more convenient when the dredger is operated by a remote control.
FITT Resources supplies the Dragflow DRF series of mini dredgers to operators across Australia, along with the other cable dredgers, radio controlled dredgers and amphibious dredgers in the Dragflow range.
Dragflow DRF mini dredgers are versatile and easy to operate
The compact size of Dragflow DRF mini dredgers makes them highly versatile and ideal for use in sewage and water treatment facilities, as they are quick and easy to assemble and to move from pumping site to site. The floating polythene cubes have a buoyancy capacity of 350 kg/m2 which ensures stability, while the small draft enables Dragflow mini dredgers to be used in relatively shallow water, which is why they are so effective in sludge ponds.
Other features of Dragflow DRF dredgers include an electric hoist for lowering and raising the submersible dredge pump to the correct depth, which is controlled from an electric control panel.
